We are so proud to announce we have just won a Platinum Medal and 97 points for our 2020 Plume Chardonnay at the Decanter Wine Awards in London. This is one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world, and it’s a massive honour for Lake Chalice to have been recognised in this way. We’re thrilled to be able to share this news with our customers and celebrate the hard work and dedication of our winemakers and staff.

The Decanter Awards are highly regarded within the wine industry, and winning a Platinum Medal and 97 points is no small feat. The judges are experts in their field and spend days tasting and evaluating wines worldwide.

Winemaker Chloe Gabrielsen, who oversaw the making of the 2020 Plume Chardonnay, shared her thoughts on the win. “We’re absolutely thrilled to have won this prestigious award. It’s a testament to our team’s hard work and dedication, who take great pride in crafting exceptional wines. The Plume Chardonnay is a particularly special wine for us, and we’re delighted that it has been recognised in this way.”

The 2020 Plume Chardonnay is a beautiful wine that showcases the best of Marlborough’s wine-growing region. It is made from the finest grapes, picked by hand and carefully fermented to bring out their unique flavours and aromas. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, adding subtle richness and depth to the finished wine.

When tasting the Plume Chardonnay, you’ll notice a beautiful bright straw colour with aromas of ripe pear, citrus, and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, you’ll discover white peach, lemon curd flavours and a touch of minerality. The wine has a long, lingering finish and is perfect for enjoying alone or with your favourite seafood or poultry dish.
