2020 Lake Chalice Wines – The Raptor Chardonnay 2020

A limited release expression consisting of small parcels of fruit from a Pete and Anne Reed's vineyard, Central Wairau Valley in Marlborough. These wines are made to tell a story of where they are grown. This wine is an elegant expression of Chardonnay which was whole bunch pressed and wild fermented for 10 months before bottling.

Vinification

Fermented for a full 10 months in a selection of new and seasoned French oak barriques from wild yeast.

Appearance

Pale gold.

Flinty notes combined with toasted hazelnuts and citrus.

Palate

Concentrated, round and full with flavours of ripe peach, nectarine rounded by integrated oak and citrus blossom.

Cellaring

Enjoy now and over the next 5 years. If you read the back label you might be able to last 2 minutes before opening it.
